Buick LaCrosse
With
its new-for-2010, Epsilon II-platform LaCrosse CXS, Buick has clearly
targeted the Lexus ES 350. Where the Camry-based Lexus is innocuous,
the Buick is bold, even stunning. Inside, the Buick pushes harder, too,
even taking risks -- such as blue accents that glow like the interior
of a dance club. Yes, we said "dance club" and "Buick" in one sentence.
The LaCrosse also boasts a nearly 5-inch advantage in rear-seat legroom
compared with the ES 350. The Buick's top 3.6-liter is a direct-injection
unit that delivers more horsepower than the ES 350 (280 versus 272) and
the same 27-mpg highway rating. We recorded a run to 60 mph in 6.4
seconds. "Best-handling Buick ever," opines Detroit editor Todd Lassa.
"Quiet and smooth on choppy roads." It's on value that the LaCrosse
truly pulls ahead. Base price for the top CXS edition is just $33,765,
which includes leather seats (heated and ventilated up front),
dual-zone climate, a 384-watt harman/kardon audio, Bluetooth, and more.
Let us know what YOU think! Is Buick on it's way back to the top?
