Car buyers are continuing to switch from big SUVs with low gas mileage to sleek fuel efficient sedans - a movement not being ignored by Bob Moore Edmond where the former Hummer dealership building is being rechristened as the home for a new Subaru franchise.

Bob Moore Subaru is the city's first Subaru dealership and will be opening in October to serve a growing demand for cars that offer economy, safety and feature four-wheel drive, said Jeff Powell, general manager of Bob Moore Edmond.
At 13010 N Broadway Extension, Bob Moore Subaru joins Oklahoma City's growing Bob Moore Auto Group, which sells 18 automobile brands at 11 locations in the greater Oklahoma City metro area. With the opening of Bob Moore Subaru, there will be three Subaru dealerships in the state.
Although the dealership is in the process of receiving its full inventory, eager customers are buying from the limited number of Subarus available.
"We're looking forward to introducing Subaru to our customers, including the 2009 Forester, Motor Trend's Sport Utility of the Year, and the new 2010 fifth-generation Legacy, which is receiving rave reviews," Powell said. "Subaru's offers a solid variety of vehicles, all of which achieve outstanding safety, performance and customer value ratings on a consistent basis. And for anyone looking for vehicle that does well in our weather, Subaru is a must to consider."
Powell added any Subaru can be serviced at Bob Moore Subaru.
Powell said the move does not mean an end to Hummer sales in Oklahoma City. Instead, the franchise is being moved to the Bob Moore Cadillac building and an announcement on the brand's future is expected next month.
"This has been a tough year for the auto industry, and the addition of a new dealership to the Bob Moore Auto Group family demonstrates our continued long-term commitment to growth" said Mark Moore, president and chief executive officer, Bob Moore Auto Group.
