Three big changes for the 2019 Ram 1500

May 10th, 2018 by

The Ram 1500 was redesigned for the 2019 model year and has a bunch of new features to ensure it remains a top pick. Here are three changes we're excited to show off to shoppers we serve from the Oklahoma City, Edmond, Norman, and Moore areas!

A brand-new engine

The 5.7L HEMI® V8 engine is still available, but there's also a new variant: the 5.7L HEMI® V8 with eTorque mild hybrid technology. No, no, no, the mild hybrid technology doesn't mean you'll suddenly be driving around in a Prius with a truck bed. All it does is simply make the truck more efficient and powerful at the same time. To put it into perspective, the standard 5.7L has a max towing of 11,610 pounds, but the eTorque version can tow up to 12,750 pounds! Just ignore the "H-word" and get towing.

A massive touchscreen

Touchscreens are becoming common place in vehicles, so for designers to stay ahead of the curve they have to make them bigger, and boy did the Ram 1500 take the 'bigger is better' messaging to heart. If you shell out for a higher trim level, you can get an available 12-inch touchscreen. It'll run the new Uconnect 4® program and can even do split-screen function. You'll really feel like you’re the captain of a high-tech ship.

More safety technology

Ram really upped its game on providing advanced safety technologies to its drivers, so much so that there are now more than 100+ safety and security features. Top technologies include lane departure warning plus, a feature that not only gives visual alerts but can guide you back into position, smart cruising with stop and go that is especially useful downtown, and guided parking for parallel and perpendicular maneuvers.
